Remember Kashim Shettima was Governor of Borno State when Boko Haram was at their most dreadful.
A magazine, “power Steering” which is being circulated, alleged that Governor Shettima is behind the killing of late Alhaji Awana Ngala, former ANPP chairman in Borno State, who was tipped to succeed former governor Ali Modu Sheriff as well as Engr. Modu Fannami Gubio, the gubernatorial candidate of the ANPP, who was killed barely one week after he was appointed to succeed Modu Sheriff in the 2011 general election.
The magazine, which claimed a secret conversation with a detained Boko Haram member, Mustapha Kolo revealed that there is an existing relationship between the group and the Borno State governor right from his time as a commissioner, where he served in five ministries before his election as Governor of Borno State.

Mustapha Kolo revealed that the governor had been giving them money to further their course and had been meeting with their leaders over targeted assassinations of prominent Borno citizens and politicians, who did not share his own political ideas.

Mustapha Kolo said, “When he (Shettima) was Commissioner, he used to give us plenty money. He even gave us money to kill Fannami Gubio, so he can become governor, but he did not complete his payment; we were following him, he didn’t give us again”.

Shettima equally frustrated Boko Haram war, failed to secure Chibok girls and acted against sound advice from the government at the time.
It is instructive that while other Governors in the zone heeded the security advice, Shettima remained the only one that flagrantly flouted it. It is important to point out that his decision to reward the principal of Chibok Secondary School, who was uncharacteristically absent on the night terrorists stormed the school, with the post of a commissioner, did throw up more questions than answers?

It is evidently clear that Shettima is Boko Haram and Boko Haram is Shettima. Listen to his utterances that a good man cannot be a president of Nigeria. He also allocated the security to himself. I am not sure even Tinubu knows what Shettima can do against him.
