ANA OSUN SET TO HOST TWO WRITERS IN OSOGBO NOVEMBER 19

The Osun State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA Osun), has set aside 19th day of November, 2022 to host two writers, Mr. Obinna Chilekezi and Mr. Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

A statement signed by the Acting Chairman and Secretary of the association in the state, Mr. Odetayo Wasiu Omobewaji (current Vice Chairman) and Mr. Afeez Olagunju and made available to newsmen by the association’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Oladejo Haneef Olalekan said the event would take place at the association’s secretariat at No 20, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ibuaje Micro Finance Bank Building, Pepsi Cola, Area Osogbo, Osun State by 12PM prompt.
According to the statement, the Publicity Secretary’s report on the just concluded 41st International Convention of the association held at the national secretariat of the association will be presented to members. Also, the meeting would also discuss serious matters and ways of repositioning ANA Osun in terms of future activities and membership drive.
ANA Osun finally urged interested writers in the state of the virtue to partake in the November reading as it is open to the public.

OBINNA CHILEKEZI

Obinna Chilekezi is an Insurance Practitioner with background in Librarianship. Currently a PhD candidate at the Joseph Ayo Babalola University in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovations. His poems and stories have appeared in Newspapers, Journals and Anthologies. His published collections of poems are “Songs of a Stranger at the Smiling Coast” (Kraft Books), “My Gambian and Other Poems” (Libretto Press) and “Calligramme” (Emotion Books). He has just released a memoir on his one-month stay in his home town following a surgery in 2020, titled; “My Hospital Blues” which is presently on Amazon ( a book which reveals his discovery that the cause of agitation in his state and Igboland is bad governance from all the tiers of government).

In 2016, one of his insurance books won the African Insurance Organisation Book Award. He has travelled extensively across the West African sub-region and dreams of travelling too to other parts of the world.

AKINYEMI JELILI OYELERE


Akinyemi Jelili Oyelere hails from Imia hamlet, Kajola Local Government, Oke-Ogun Area, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is a Writer, Poet, Public Speaker, Passionate Volunteer, Technocrat Administrator, Development Expert, SDGs Advocate and Author of two books (Awakening Dreams and The Cave of a Thousand Demons).

Jelili is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Oyo State Chapter, member of Ibadan Book Club (IBC), member of Family Support Initiative (FASI), and President of International African Writers' Association (IAWA), Nigerian Branch.

He is the Founder and Chairman of Awakening Dreams Foundation (ADF), a nongovernmental organization that caters for Tennagers and Youth. He is currently serving as a Project Manager at Gabriel Victoria Foundation in Osun State.

Jelili's works have been published in different countries. Also, he is an Award winning Poet. He has served as a Judge in different debates and speech contests.

Oyelere holds HND from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and presently serving Nigeria at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a Corps Member in Osun State. He is an avid learner and voracious reader who add value to himself on daily basis.
