Peter Obi has already promised to get rid of BDCs.

No amount of propaganda and artificial exchange rates will discourage Obi from doing that.

Naira that exchanged at 216 to a dollar when GEJ handed over to the current terrorist president, is now various orders of magnitude.
Re: BDC CAP DOLLARS @580 Starting From 15/09 by sotall(m): 5:26am On Nov 14, 2022
Price is determined by demand and supply.

Where will aboki get dollar @580 to sell @590.

The reason the dollar keeps going up is because there is large amount of naira chasing few dollars available in Nigeria.

Even the government that earns free dollars from oil sale couldn't meetup with the demand for dollar, hence the proliferation of BDCs.

If the government of Buhari was serious at keeping exchange rate low, the government should make all dollars made from selling oil available at the currency market.
That way there will be enough dollars to meet demand and price will crash.

But will the government do it? No.
They will rather print more naira like they have been doing.

Don't be deceived. Dollar is already back to 800+.
The truth is that we are not earning enough dollar to go round to take care of the demand for dollar.

You provide the data.
If the government that earns free money from oil sales will rather print more naira and buy foreign cars and other consumables, it tells you the naira will never have value.

As i am writing this, dollar is back at 800 naira.

The money is not enough, and remember that we still use part of it to import refined petroleum product.

I'll be the last to believe this contraption, but if it happened to be true, then, I pray those who pulled it should also visit our aboki food suppliers, and in like same manner, convince them to reduce the price of their produce considerably.

Yes its not enough.
But the government has to do something about the local demand for foreign currency.
There are lots of items ( infact Nigeria imports most of her product) that are important to everyday life that we must import because Nigeria doesn't produce them. This requires foreign currency.

The government cant do an i dont care attitude

Obi talks about a few people enjoying Nigeria to the detriment of the vast majority.

If the BDC operators are contributing to the immense economic hardships Nigerians are facing, then they will have to do better, otherwise their businesses will be shut down.

Nigeria is about to transit from CONSUMPTION TO PRODUCTION. Everyone must read the script. There will be no sacred cows. Everyone must benefit from Nigeria
