A Step-by-step Guide To Keeping Your Car Clean by shakeel8436: 12:18pm On Nov 21, 2022
How often should you clean your car? What do you clean first? How do you know if you need to take the car to the garage for some extra cleaning? Keep reading to find out about these questions and more in this step-by-step guide on how to keep your car clean from top to bottom and from front to back!

The benefits of a clean car

You should make a habit of cleaning your car on a regular basis. A clean car not only looks good, it also smells good and is easier to maintain. Below are some steps that will help you keep your car clean:

You'll need a steam cleaner and water. Steamgrønt or other chemical cleaners can be used as well but they're usually harsher on the environment. For best results, use distilled or purified water if possible. Fill your bucket with enough warm water to cover up most of the surface area inside, add some steaming liquid (Rengøring af bil), then pour in your hose attachment nozzle into the bucket and put it on full blast. Wet down any dirtier areas with clean water first before going over them with the steamer so that all dirt is washed away.
The supplies you'll need
You'll need a bucket, sponge, a towel, and Steamgrønt to get started. Make sure the steamer is at a safe distance from the vehicle. Always begin by cleaning the back of the car first. This ensures that any dirt you're scrubbing off doesn't go flying onto the windshield. Once you've swept away any loose dirt, use Steamgrønt on tough stains like grease or oil by spraying it on and allowing it to sit for 10 minutes before wiping it off. Then finish up with some Rengøring af bil using either a new rag or an old one that's been wrung out to avoid streaking. Then rinse the whole area down with water, dry off everything with another rag, and store everything neatly in your toolbox so nothing gets lost!

The best time to wash your car

Cleaning the exterior of your car once a month will help keep it looking sharp. For example, we recommend washing the car at least two weeks before an upcoming holiday or event. The best time to wash your car is on a day when you have ample daylight available, because you want to be able to see what you're doing and dry the car afterward. Wash from top down and always use a high quality wax when necessary.
Start by washing the wheels, tires and undercarriage with a degreaser and hose using plenty of water pressure.
Next, wash upholstery with mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly with cold water afterwards before moving on to the next section of upholstery.

How to wash your car

Wet the sponge and use it to scrub the exterior of the vehicle.
Rinse off the soap with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth or towel.
If you want, you can also use a bucket of soapy water and a hose nozzle attachment to rinse your vehicle down while standing on the ground instead of using a high-pressure washer on an elevated platform, which could damage sensitive engine parts and paint jobs.
Use soap or degreaser if there is dirt or grease on the surface of your car that won't come off with just water.

How to dry your car

Start by vacuuming the inside of the vehicle. Then, use a damp microfiber towel to wipe down the interior surfaces, including windows and door panels. Use another damp microfiber towel to shine up any exterior surfaces. Wipe down any leather seats with a slightly wet cloth and polish with a dry cloth. Finally, give the tires a good scrubbing with an all-purpose cleaner (like soap or shampoo). Let it sit for five minutes, then rinse off using fresh water and a pressure washer if you have one available.
