Any organization that has a high turnover of staff, there is a fundamental problem within the organization. It is not bad Recruitment Service or incompetence when Seven employees leave your organisation in less than Six weeks. That is a high rate of attrition.

Do not always blame employee who leave organisations with unpleasant culture or working conditions in short periods.

Instead of always blaming the exited employees or recruitment firm, start looking inwards and ask the right questions to know why or what is making employees leave your organisation.

Fix your internal Structure.

They offer British work standards with 3 branches they pay over time. Any deductions from your salary request for the receipts but........
The OM & HR are new, they hate people that are blunt. HR has been out of job for a long time, in 2022, he still gives hard copy of payslip. Anyways y my regards to George, Nelson, Kola, Sodiq & favour

For HRMs, MDs, CEOs, MANAGERS,

DISCONTINUE, AMEND or CONTINUE

We are often shaped by our experiences and background and this later forms how we do things or conduct ourselves.

In the work place, most often than not, you either propagate what you have learnt as policies or culture and transpose it to a new place.

You see nothing wrong except your subconscious or someone calls your attention to a better way of doing things.

I had worked in an organization for about 7 years and the policy was to pay salary on the last day (30th or 31st of every month), festive period inclusive.

Started my organization about 5 years ago, adopted same policy among others..

My HR Generalist called my attention to paying salary on or before December 22nd instead of Dec 24th I was like what’s changed?

Where i am coming from, what law court would we have gone to, to tell “oga patapata” at the top that we want salaries before Dec 25th.

I can’t even imagine anyone having the audacity to go and meet him but all the same policies are not cast in stone.

I asked myself the following questions:

What could go wrong if salaries were paid before Dec 22nd?

Was the salary budgeted for or not and is it readily available?

What could go wrong if salary day is changed to meet employees expectation?

Would i lose anything except the fact that some Japarians may not work till end of the month?

Would the company survive if policy is changed?

Guess what, the policy was changed and salaries got paid on Dec 21st.

As an HR manager, CEO/ MD or head of team, what is that Policy or Process that needs to change in 2023?

What is that culture that needs a revamping that your team has been complaining about?

Can i beg you to change, discontinue or alter this in the Spirit of Christmas for your employees.

Don’t propagate unfriendly policies.
Don’t practice old habit in the new year.
Be open minded for new perspectives.
Boost employee engagement.
Create a work environment where employees look forward to coming each day and give their best.

Lessons for this year:

1. Never work for a man earning 8 figures on a weekly basis while you are being paid 5 figures on a monthly basis with enough insults and humiliation.

Reason why I quitted my job this month.

2. Never stay long in a job that doesn't add any value to your life.

3. Stay out of gossips... It will help maintain your sanity

4. Dedicate your to service for God bcox this life na vanity

These are excerpt from ex employees

Employee 1 They deduct the statutory deductions and they don't remit & will never remit.

Employee 2 The man shouts, is manipulative and not truthful

Employee 3 In summary, the atmosphere is not right. they shut down because of covid, why didn't the previous staff return.

Employee 4, I cannot work in such organizations where what you do most times is different from the JD, sending me to go buy food angry or sending you on irrelevant errand.

Employee 5, I hate it when I sign up for 5:00pm yet I am in the office till 7:00pm or making sure the task would be given to you few minutes to closing hour

Employee 6, They claim they have HMO, but if you fall sick the require you to bring doctor's report.

Employee 7, Do not leave your present job because of what they offer, atimes peace of mind is better.

Sometimes you don’t understand the full impact of a toxic workplace until you start at a new one. “People put up with so much for the sake of a salary.”

Announcement!

I'm Happy to announce that I broke up with toxicity in any shape or manner. I would rather have peace than money. I would rather be seemingly a nobody than someone dying under the weight of toxicity

I would rather walk away than phone a friend all the time for help with "toxicity" , I would rather exhaust all lifelines to stay alive. I would rather leave to tell my story than bear the consequences of staying that I may not live to tell

For someone who has experienced toxicity first hand , both professionally and personally, one of the things I would love to advocate, particularly in 2023 is a better work environment, better relationships, whether with friends, families or any other kind of relationship

Toxicity can be addressed if the manipulators involved, really want a change , unfortunately most do not want, or are stuck in their gaslighting ways .

I've joined the train to say No to toxicity! I hope you join me too
