A team of officers attached to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the leadership of the United Nations, yesterday visited Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) and seeks Collaboration with the State Government and ACTDA in other to cushion the effects of flood in the state.

Speaking during the visit, the Spokesperson of the group, Miss Adelede, appreciated the amount of effort and commitment she has seen in the public service culture of Ndi Anambra, which is the reason they could easily assist the state.

" We are here majorly on issues with flooding and how we could provide services at the medium and long time scale"

" We are providing technical support in mapping out areas that tend towards being more flooded so that we can tackle the coming events"

Also speaking, Mr Hezekiah Samuel said that they are also interested in anything that could cause mobility migration as a result of climate change and security risk adding that they will collect the data of the people involved, visit them and relate to their management team on the needs of those people.

In response, the Managing Director of ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko while welcoming the group, also took them into the history of the emergence of the Authority, adding that the Authority is in charge of regulating infrastructural development.

" We are here to see to infrastructural development, attract investors and give ambience to the capital Territory "

He said that the Authority is ready to collaborate and offer any assistance required to combat the issue of flood and erosion bedevilling the state.

He also led the team to the Authority's Data lab where they were assisted with the Aerial Map of Anambra to help with their data collating. (MOI)
