Team news: Juan Mata is unlikely to start Chelsea's Premier League game against Norwich.

But the Spain winger, who completed his move from Valencia on Wednesday, could be on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

Fellow new boy Oriol Romeu is in contention to start, but the game comes slightly too soon for David Luiz (thigh), while Petr Cech and Michael Essien (both knee) remain sidelined and Daniel Sturridge serves the final instalment of his three-match ban.

Team news: Norwich defender Daniel Ayala has been ruled out for two months with a knee injury.

The 20-year-old Spaniard, who joined the Premier League newcomers earlier this month from Liverpool, suffered the injury during the Canaries' 4-0 midweek Carling Cup humbling at home to MK Dons.

The club confirmed the news on their official Twitter feed this morning, posting ahead of the game at Chelsea: "Injury blow - Daniel Ayala out for a couple of months with knee injury, Wes Hoolahan being monitored."

Stat: In their last four visits to stamford Bridge, in league and cup, Norwich have conceded 14 goals.

Match notes: Andre Villas-Boas has Juan Mata available, but admits this may be too early for a starting place and is likely to stick with the side that beat West Brom last week, albeit starting with the 4-4-2 formation he switched to after 35 minutes. Norwich, after being thumped 4-0 by MK Dons in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, has suffered further, with Wes Hoolahan and new signing Daniel Ayala getting serious injuries and Leon Barnett suspended.

Malouda is just not interested in this game.

Torres is doing too much. As a striker, if u have any site of goal, you shoot but my guy wants to dribble,

Mikel has kept that midfield tight. i wish he had a little bit of essiens spirt in him though.

Drogba has just proven to me that he is past his prime, hoping to see laluka in action soon
