The two-week 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 27 (6th-20th November, 2022), almost deadlocked because of insistence for compensations for climate-induced disasters to developing African/Caribbeans countries whose greenhouse gas emissions was minimal compared to the giant industrial economies!
Sunday 20th November 2022, final plenary eventually witnessed an agreement which gave nod to the demands and commissioning of the Sharm el Sheikh Implementation Plan ( SHIP), for the first time in the annals of the annual global event.

With SHIP now in place disadvantaged countries can draw compensations from the global fund which heavy industrialsed countries will willingly and cheerfully contribute to save lives/infrastructures of affected Nations.

COP 27 stands out as the most successful of all the annual conferences as it also agreed to keep the 1.5C target for global temperature rise intact unlike COP 26, Glasgow, Scotland!
There were also pledges by developed countries to ensure mitigation, adaptation, finance, loss and damage for developing countries. Pledges were made by industrialized nations which included Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Scotland, Canada, France, New Zealand etc.
Excerpts of the COP 27 President's speech on Sunday 20th November 2022 closing plenary:
“The work that we’ve managed to do here in the past two weeks and the results we have together achieved are a testament to our collective will as a community of nations to voice a clear message that rings loudly today, here in this room and around the world: that multilateral diplomacy still works.

“Despite the difficulties and challenges of our time the divergence of views level of ambition or apprehension we remain committed to the fight against climate change….. we rose to the occasion, upheld our responsibilities and undertook the important decisive political decisions that millions around the world expect from us.”

MAN IS HIS OWN WORST ENEMY AS POLLUTION AGENT.

We have always maintained that the universe always experienced very bad weather conditions through the atmosphere that should be friendly under normal conditions because scientist, ecologist, and environmentalists believe that all the green house emissions, gas flaring, deadly carbon emissions, explosion of atomic and hydrogen bombs, pollution from crude oil in the course of extraction of oil and gas exploitation and exploration, were mostly responsible for incessant global warming and ozone layer depletion!

We want to believe that within the next year before COP 28 will be held, that the highly developed and industrialized nations will take note of all of the above observations and reduce the heavy pollution which they are regularly releasing into the atmosphere!
This is the only way that the world and its people can be saved from extinction! As it is written: Prevention is better than cure! NIGERIA IS EQUALLY GUILTY all of the above NEGLIGENCE and it is because of the very corrupt Presidential System of government that has DIVERTED ECOLOGICAL FUNDS TO PERSONAL POCKETS FOR OVER 22 YEARS!

There is no doubt that a CHANGE is imminent! A PARLIAMENTARY GOVERNMENT of the people can be voted through REFERENDUM to save the only country we can call our own from self-destruction!

Nigeria needs a PRIME MINISTER through REFERENDUM and a PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT IN 2023!
