A 75-year-old man named Musa Gambo has been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) on suspicion of sexually assaulting his great-grandniece, age 6, in Jigawa State.

Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) Adamu Shehu, the Jigawa State NSCDC Command's spokesman, confirmed the arrest in a statement to DAILY POST.

He stated that the suspect was apprehended following a complaint from a social worker who had received an urgent phone call from a member of the victim's family who claimed to have caught the suspect in the act while visiting the girl's grandma.

According to Adamu, NSCDC agents detained the suspect on Wednesday at 1 pm in Gandun Sarki Quarters in the Malam Madori LGA on suspicion of raping a six-year-old girl who is his great-grandniece.
