The Canadian passport ranks 8th in the world as of December 2022. This means that Canadian citizens can travel visa-free or get an eVisa, or a visa on arrival, to 185 countries in the world. However, to enter the remaining countries, Canadian passport holders must have a valid visitor visa.
For visa-free travels, you still must have a valid passport — usually six months after your departure date— and you must purchase travel health insurance as required by your destination country.

Canadian passport is 8th in the World with 185 countries. That's the actual index. New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and Belgium all have the same index 7th (186 countries).
You're using Wikipedia's misinterpretation of HPI (Hanley Passport Index) and it's misleading cause passports of the same index are given different numbers according to that interpretation. For example, Japan is number 1(193 countries) while Singapore and South Korea are supposed to be ranked 2 (192 countries each). However, they assign Singapore 2 and South Korea 3, and thereby giving the wrong impression that Singapore is above South Korea. Then the next set of countries that should have been ranked 3 (Germany and Spain with 190 countries each) are given 4 and 5 respectively; again, given the wrong impression that Germany is higher than Spain. This is why you see them reporting Australia and Canada as 29th and 20th (even though they both have 185 countries each) instead of 8th. This violates the definition of index which should be about position and not just counting.
If you want to know the actual index according to HPI, don't look at Wikipedia or other sites/blogs; go directly to HPI's official website here: https://www.henleyglobal.com/passport-index and if you want to know more about traveling visa-free as a Canadian passport holder, go straight to https://www.immigration.ca/power-of-canadian-passport-moves-up-a-notch-in-new-index/
