Yenagoa chapter of Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF), distributed palliatives to about 50 flood victims, last weekend.

The items included cartons of noodles, yams and cash gifts.

The distribution was the high point of the fellowship's meeting, held on Sunday December 4, to review the 2022 year and plan for 2023.

President of the chapter, Barrister Peter-Great Temedie, stated this, during an interactive session with this writer.

NCGF, he explained, “is an assembly of Christian graduates, who use their talents and resources to provide humanitarian, evangelical, educational and medical services, across the country and Africa.

Speaking about the significance of the gesture, Temedie said “the beneficiaries expressed great joy over the food items.

“The NCGF national leadership mobilized funds to support members, who were severely affected by the devastating flood in November.

“Some members from other chapters also sent their personal donations to the Yenagoa brethren.

“It was a joyful occasion, as the brethren distributed the gifts sent by the fellowship,” he noted.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Vice President of the chapter-cum-welfare coordinator, Deacon Amara Diekedie conveyed the heart felt gratitude of Yenagoa brethren to the NCGF family for the rare show of love and empathy to them.

Pastor Alex Apere, an elder statesman and foremost clergyman in Bayelsa State, in his remarks, expressed surprise that his name was included amongst the list of beneficiaries.

He said “the gesture has renewed and revived his commitment to the Fellowship.”

The Chapter of the Fellowship meets on first and third Sundays of every month, at Fara Homes Hotel, Yenagoa.
