Governor Nasir El Rufai, current governor and Chief Security officer of Kaduna state was asked by Bola Tinubu to answer a question on security posed to him at Chattam House in London.

I think it's important to mention that Kaduna state is one of the states which has been most ravaged with ethnic and religious killings and insecurity in Nigeria since El Rufai was elected governor.

For the benefit of nairaland readers, here is a summary of the security situation in Kaduna in the past 7 years of El Rufai's governorship of the state:

2022

July 2022: Over 13 villagers abducted from their homes in Birnin Gwari LGA of kaduna state. Villagers flee their homes due to continuous attacks by the Ansaru terror group.

March 28, 2022: Hundreds of passengers onboard an Abuja - Kaduna train were kidnapped in Katari, Kaduna state, after the train was bombed by terrorists. Scores of people were killed and injured.

2021

August 24, 2021: Bandists attack the Nigeria Defence Academy Kaduna, killing 2 officers and abducting a senior officer

2021: The SBM Intelligence reports that 1,192 people were killled in Kaduna state, while 3,384 were kidnapped. SBM is a Lagos based geopolitical advisory group.

2020

2020: The SBM Intelligence reports that deaths from insecurity in Kaduna was 3 times that of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa who were battling terrorism. SBM is a Lagos based geopolitical advisory group.

2019

March 16, 2019: Fulani herdsmen murder 10 people of the Adara ethnic group in Sanga LGA of Kaduna state.

March 11, 2019: Fulani herdsmen murder up to 52 people of the Adara ethnic group in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna state.

March 10, 2019: Unidentified gunmen ambush and murder 17 vigilantes in the mostly muslim area of Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna state.

March 10, 2019: Adara militants murder up to 35 people in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna state

February 26, 2019: Fulani herdsmen murder 40 Adara natives in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna state

February 10, 2019: Fulani herdsmen and Adara militia murder 141 people in Kajuru LGA of the state, resulting from a clash between both ethnic groups (130 Fulani and 11 Adara people dead according to government sources).

2015

December 2015: Nigerian military forces murder 700 - 1000 people of the Shiite minority group
