Popular Nigerian singer, Oladapo Oyebanji, known as D’banj, has been arrested and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC). The singer was arrested on Tuesday, 6th Dec. 2022, after he was forced to surrender. He was arrested because of the suspicious fraudulently diverting funds meant for the N-Power into his own personal account. It was reported that the singer had some connection with government officials, who introduced non-existent beneficiaries into the scheme. The amount given to each beneficiary was seen in his account, he was summoned for weeks but refused to heed to adhere in regards to his arrest.


The singer was forced to be arrested anywhere in Nigeria or in other country, this is because he declined their invitation for conversation for multiple no. of times he was called on. The authorities rejected the singer’s request for bail on the grounds that they could not rely on him to appear at his trial if he is released. D’banj is a Nigerian singer-songwriter who is also known as the Kokomaster. He has been active in the Nigerian music scene since 2004 with numerous hit tunes to his credit.
