I have the option of doing my nysc at either CBN or SHELL. Which one do you guys think i should choose. Which one will most likely retain me? I am an accounting graduate currently taking the ACCA. Thanks

i wil advice u 2 chose cbn,my reason is that i knw sm1 who served in shell and after dat he was nt retained.so i think cbn may retain u,though am not 2sure. My oda reason is dat even when both org wants 2 retain u i stil advise u chose cbn ,where ur job is much secured unlik shell.thanks.

None. CBN doesn't as a matter of policy. I know somebody that had a First Class + ACA, served in CBN and not retained. Shell too, but I don't know whether you can be given contract, and that one too will be extremely tough.

Both organizations have standard recruitment process and time and they can never recruit entry level by mere serving with them.

Jarus has said it all. In fact, a friend served with shell, even though his uncle was one of the top guys in shell he was not retained. Rather he was taken as a contract staff. CBN, on the other hand, does not even retain. My uncle advised me against serving with them during my time.

Op, i will advise you go for shell, at least that will help you a lot during job hunt. Serving with shell means a lot, even as a corper.

why not try the big accounting firms? At least, if you pass their aptitude test and interviews after nysc then you will be retained.

It's NYSC, you can't have two choices. They're not even located in the same state. Shell is in PH, while CBN is in Abuja or Lagos.
