Juxtaposition of Senator Stella Adaeze Oduah with the totality of her competitors leads any keen observer to inevitable outcomes of seeing such competitors on Veblen's latitudes.
A short background story please:

The ubiquitous Julius Caesar was once captured by sea pirates when actually he was relatively unknown, when he was an insignificant nobody in the equally obscure community back in the Roman empire.

But when Caesar's captors ransomed him just like they did the rest of their captives he protested and told them that he was scandalized to have been ransomed too low!
The criminals got bewildered at Julius Caesar's talk.

They had always captured their many victims who regularly pleaded for lower, and not higher, ransoms as Caesar was talking. Immediately words got to town that a huge ransom had been placed on Caesar's head by sea pirates.

The huge ransom, however, was eventually raised by the community to secure the freedom for Caesar which invariably raised the status of previously unknown young man, Julius Caesar's, sociopolitical stature considerably.

Although this incident happened long before it got ascribed to an American Economist named Thorsten Veblen who explained that many grocery merchandise, for instance, are sold for higher price tags not necessarily because they're better or more valuable but because they, perhaps, have been made out to look like they are what Julius Caesar acted before his captors on the high sea!

This situation ultimately came to be known as Veblen's Theory.

Most contestants in the present Anambra North Senatorial race are of Veblen's stock who had not actually asserted themselves the way Omueze Power has distinguished herself in the Nigerian Senate.

There's an enviable pedigree in business, there's been an enviable pedigree in politics, as there's been a distinguished pedigree in the field such as the Nigerian Senate!

The records are commonplace, Senator Stella Oduah: By definition, a ranking Senator is a member of the Senate who has been in the chambers for more than just one tenure.

In the Legislature, every new member is a neophyte and has limited understanding of the internal workings of the chambers. These internal workings in and outside the chambers are the major factors that determine who gets what , when and how.

One of the greatest benefits of having Senators who are ranking is that the Chambers sharing formulary has a lot of respect for seniority. In all manner of sharing formular, seniority is highly revered. So, anyone who is your senior and has been in the Senate more than once or twice gets the right of first refusal at all times.

Senatorial Constituencies that are in the habit of 'turn by turn' lose the privilege of having an experienced and formidable representative who will use his/her position or Influence to attract viable projects and programs to the constituency.

Our democracy is rooted in the American System of government where we have the bicameral legislature/congress.

In this claim that we copied their democracy, members of the parliament do not have tenures and neither do they adopt 'turn by turn' mentality. Legislators are given the opportunity to represent the people continually to enable them become well experienced and more connected with the parliamentary doctrines and thereafter accrue vast majority of dividends of democracy to their constituencies.

With the above, Our case in Nigeria requires more attention. Our laws do not in any way limit the tenure of a Senator and so it is incumbent on the people themselves to choose what they want and how they want it.

Lobby is a legal form of pushing for dividends in a parliamentary system. A ranking Senator is more opportune to get juicy Committee Chairmanship positions and the greater possibility of getting leadership positions in the chambers. These opportunities provide the needed presence where critical decisions are taken.

We can confidently deduct from the above that for a constituency to get the best at the National Assembly, their representatives must be experienced and fall among the top ranking legislatures.

How much were you paid to praise this woman? She is one of the dirtiest politicians in Nigeria. Very greedy. A crook that has been embezzling money for years
