In commemoration of her 70th anniversary cum Weekend of Service to Humanity, the National Association of Seadogs, Uyo Branch aka Sancta Riviera Deck on Saturday, December 10, 2022, organized a medical outreach for pregnant women and children (aged 0 - 6 years).

The branch carried out a health talk centred on giving positive sensitisation to pregnant women and children, and also provided the women post-birth amper packs and anti-malaria drugs for their children.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Micheal Ekpo, the President, National Association of Seadogs, Uyo Branch informed participants that the event was "structured across the globe to demonstrate the association's age long resolve to continuously sue for a just society while raising the bar of egalitarianism and lending a hand when and wherever there is a need".

In his remarks, "since 1952, our contribution to national development through various advocacy and humanitarian projects continues to sustain hope across the five continents and countries where our Chapters
exist”. He went on to list the NAS Street Child Project, Save Darfur Project, #Our Votes Count Project as a few examples of globally impactful projects, organized by the Association.

Speaking at the event, was a retired Chief Nurse, Mrs. Vivian Ekpat. She admonished the pregnant women on the dangers of patronizing local birth attendance and encouraged them to always seek professional medical services by visiting government approved health centres or hospitals to meet with Doctors and trained Nurses.

This event took place at the Afaha Oku Town Hall (The village where the Anchor point is located) and witnessed a huge turnout of mothers and children who also went home with packed refreshments as a big thank you for attending the session.

In all, it was truly SERVICE TO HUMANITY.
