Thousands Of PDP, NNPP Supporters Reportedly Decamp To APC In Sokoto Mr Abubakar by Tsolutionjoseph: 7:52am On Dec 11, 2022
Over 9,800 supporters of the PDP and NNPP in Goronyo Local Government Area have dumped their parties for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Sokoto by Bashar Abubakar, special assistant on new media to APC leader in the state, Aliyu Wamakko.

Mr Abubakar said that the defectors included NNPP State House of Assembly candidate in the area, Maniru Malami, alongside hundreds of his supporters.

Mr Abubakar said that Mr Malami dumped the party alongside all his local government and 11 ward executive committee members.

The new entrants into the APC also included an ex-State House of Assembly aspirant, Shehu Dan-Tsamaye, and the incumbent Financial Secretary, Hamza ‘Yar-Dole.

Others were the chairman, forum of wards chairpersons in the area, Amadu Dan-Kansila, and another PDP bigwig, Hamisu Mai-Alewa.

Mr Abubakar said that they were received into the fold of the APC by the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general elections, Ahmed Aliyu.

Mr Aliyu said that the mass exodus into the APC was a sign of the increasing acceptability of the party.

Mr Aliyu said,” PDP in the state has failed to redeem all the promises it had made to the people of the state since 2019.”

TEXEM Advert

The state chairman of the party, Isa Sadiq-Achida, pledged to treat the defectors equally with the older members of the party.

Mr Sadiq-Achida said, “We are hopeful that APC will emerge victorious during the forthcoming general polls at all levels.”

APC Zonal Secretary, North West, Bello Goronyo, and its senatorial candidate for Sokoto East, Ibrahim Lamido, said the party at the national level was strategising toward successful campaigns in the country.

APC Chairman in Goronyo Local Government, Kabiru Sarkin-Fulani, lauded the defectors for “taking the right decision, at the right time.”

A cross-section of the defectors cited the alleged failure of the PDP-led state government to deliver the dividends of democracy.

The truth is that Nigeria will never remain the same again. Peter Obi has woken up the spirit of Nigeria of the late 1950s, everyone is feeling like we will get our independence again.

Nigeria will rise again.

Vote for Peter Obi and Yusuf Baba Datti Ahmed

Killing everywhere in southeast, especially in enugu right now, all in the name of sit at home
Somebody tell me if you can - why should Peter Obi be voted for in the face of these unreasonable killings? If you don't have peace in your own home, who'll give you the permission to help bring peace to his home?
Their zone is on fire but Tinubu is their problem. No politician from a crisis ridden region as SE or NE will rule Nigeria. A south westerner will bring peace and development to Nigeria because the SW is the most peaceful and developed region in Nigeria.

It is like you missed your way. This is not a Peter Obi thread and the thousands of PDP members decamped to APC and not Labour Party and their intention is to support and vote for Bola Tinubu.

Whatever spirit Peter Obi has awoken in the south east will remain in the south east till after the election when your folks will go back to Biafra agitation. The rest of the country will vote for Tinubu the same way we voted for Buhari in 2015 and 2019.

those guys, called obidients are unreasonable, moving from one thread to another, all in the name of fighting anybody supporting TINUBU, as if he is the one causing mayhem in their region. Peter Obi is jumping from one church to another, never for one day pray or request church to pray for peace in southeast

Do you know that, the governor do not control the police affairs in the state? The governor speaks directly to the commissioner of police and the commission takes orders from the IG of police?

The insecurities in every state is because the governors are. ot in charge of the state security authority.... They're only in charge of the state economy....

Which was a stupid reason for Buhari to accuse state governors of the poverty in their state...Knowing too well that when there's insecurities and other factors, poverty rate will increase.....

The ESN and IPOB is beyond the state government, the president gives order on which security outfit should fight them.

The killings also is for political gains and nothing more...
