The leadership of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party has approved the appointment of Osun Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as a member of the campaign council.

Adeleke was appointed as the Chairman of the South-West Coordinating Committee of the campaign council, according to a notice signed by the Director-General of the PDP PCO, Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Other key PDP members were also appointed to head strategic campaign offices to steer the Atiku Abubakar presidential bid.

“These appointments are with immediate effects,” Tambuwal said.

South-West: Senator Ademola Adeleke (Chairman)

The campaign council also made appointments of Zonal Liaison Desk Officers.

It's a good one, but yet again, another act from poor judgement by Atiku and his team. If you're appointing a regional campaign head, it's important that they have influence across their region, and serve as foot soldiers. Adeleke, though a person of influence, is barely a few weeks into office and is still trying to gain control over his government, especially with his HA in the opposition. Also, he has to hit the ground running (unlike Soludo) to excite the Osun people. He obviously has his plate full at the moment, and then Atiku appoints him campaign head. Where's the time? I don't know who Atiku's strategists are, but they're not doing a great job so far.
