⚡French President Emmanuel Macron says he is ready to resume dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin:

If President Putin has serious proposals and is ready to resume dialogue that will achieve a peaceful settlement in compliance with international law, France will always be a power that will provide support and will not spare its efforts to achieve a result.

Some solid points here. One of the reason this monarchies have not done a lot on this issue is they SEE IT AS SUPPORTING IRANIAN CAUSE. When. Iran seems like a common adversary. And who is not tired of the violence in the middle east. Most now want peace evidentt by how these folks has been normalizing relations with isreal even . Saudi was on the verge if not for this conflict. What about the us even supporting . Talibans with airstrikes against ISIS-K. Planning to leave the middle east but wants to unite those monarchies and isreal so they can share a common enemy in . Iran b4 they leave. And not tot talk of some of this radical groups posing a threat to this monarchies themselves. Geopolitics is all cout cold calculus.

The Gulf countries are too rich and too few in population to allow hot headedness or militarism dictate their foreign policy

Only 6m of Saudi 30m population are Saudis, the rest are immigrants

Only 300k of Qatar 3m population are Qatari, the rest are immigrants

Only 1m of UAE 10m population are Emirati, the rest are immigrants

Only 1.4m of Kuwait 4.5m population are Kuwaiti, the rest are immigrants

Only half of Bahrain 1.5m population are Bahraini, the rest are immigrants

50% of Oman are immigrants

Of the native populations of these countries, half are millionaires and the other half are very comfortable and all will run at the sound of gunshot. The Indians and other immigrants will be the first to run

So what business do these Gulf countries have in doing hothead like Iran that have the population and the HUNGER to fight. Their demographics are not war demographics simple.

Their Kings know what is best for them and are towing the correct route of diplomacy, trade and soft life because none of them are built for war. That's why they have security pacts with USA and will call USA the minute Kuwait for example is invaded by Saddam.

Ukraine plans a new counteroffensive in 2024, Germany's Welt reports.

- The U.S. received a wish list from Ukraine, which includes Black Hawk and Apache attack helicopters, F-16 and F-18 fighter jets, missile complexes, Abrams tanks, UAVs and ammunition.

- Ukraine can count on 95% of all weapons systems supplied from the West, as they have not yet been used at the front.

- In the south, the Armed Forces hold a bridgehead on the Left Bank of the Dnieper and continue to expand it. From here it is only 60 km to Crimea. Crimea is a weak point of the Russians.

- The bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper can become a starting point. Having fighter jets, helicopters and drones, Ukraine could support the offensive, especially since there are practically no Russian fortifications here.

- Zaluzhny was not a supporter of the start of the summer offensive. A quick breakthrough was impossible and a change of strategy was a smart move, important time was gained.

⚡Satellite Images show damage to US base in Iraq from resistance drone attacks

🔻 On 17 November, US Harir base was targeted by drones, US officials initially claimed the attack did not cause any damage or casualties.

🔻 Satellite images show complete destruction of base headquarters. Harir is the closest US base to the Iranian border.

I understand your point and agree with the demographics☝️.

But I insist that on Palestine, there's a wide gulf between Arabs and their leaders especially in the rich, autocratic gulf countries.

The citizens of these gulf countries are:
Muslims like the Palestinians,
Arabs like the Palestinians,
Neighbors to the Palestinians.

It's just natural for them to support their brothers, moreso as this is about an incredible amount of injustice done to these people.

If wealthy European countries like Spain and Belgium and hundreds of thousands in the United States are taking a decisive stand in support of Palestine in spite of cultural, religious/ideological differences it's only reasonable to expect a more organic support among the Arabs regardless of wealth.

I disagree that the gulf leaders are doing what is best for their citizens by not showing support for Palestine.
They're doing THE BEST FOR THEIR THRONE instead.
Their small size and population is not a reason to not feel indignation and speak out against injustice. They're just selfish cowards who lack basic human decency.
MALTA and LUXEMBOURG are some of the smallest countries in Europe and the world with a population of just a little over 500k and 600k respectively. They were loud and clear in their support for Ukraine from the beginning to this moment.

⚡New York's Metropolitan Museum will return 16 pieces of ancient art to Thailand and Cambodia after determining it had been illegally looted.

The repatriation was announced on Friday by the museum and federal prosecutors in New York.

The art came from Douglas Latchford, a British art dealer who was charged in 2019 with "running a vast antiquities trafficking network" in southeast Asia.

Prosecutors say the decision to return it was made voluntarily by the museum.

"As demonstrated with today's announcement, pieces linked to the investigation of Douglas Latchford continue to reveal themselves," US Homeland Security Special Agent Erin Keegan said in a statement on Friday.

She added that the artworks "were shamelessly stolen".

Fourteen Khmer sculptures will be sent to Cambodia and two to Thailand.

The U.S. State Department said Friday that the international community will hold Russia accountable for “what happens” to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny “in their custody.”

“We have communicated to the Russian government that they are responsible for what happens to Mr. Navalny in their custody, and they will be held accountable by the international community,” a statement by a spokesperson for the State Department reads.

On Monday, a press secretary for Navalny, Kira Yarmysh, posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the prisoner hadn’t been heard from in the six days before. Yarmysh also said he didn’t show up to court that day.

“This is already the sixth day since we don’t know where Alexey is or what’s happening to him,” Yarmysh said.

The White House has expressed its concerns about the situation.

“He should be released immediately. He should never have been jailed in the first place,” White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told reporters. “We’re going to work with our embassy in Moscow to see how much more we can find out.”
