Since you claim flares are nothing new in missiles tech, could you mention any missile (from any country) that is known or suspected to fire flares or chaffs mid-flight as shown in that video? (Remember that a decoy missile/warhead is different from a flare/chaff).

The simple fact that you cannot name a single missile that is suspected (not proven. Suspected) of firing flares and chaff midflight tells a lot. As others have pointed out, this is new technology. Something never seen or even heard of before.

Historically, they are a new country which came into existence after a bunch of germanophone countries ganged up on France and beat France up.

Both world wars, they lost.
Nigerian Gaz pipeline to Europe, that thing has several obstacles including Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and Russia.
The USA has made targeting pipelines a normal thing, Russia won't hesitate for its own security.
If nigeria wants to be a threat to Russia's security ? Then you can guess the rest.

On another note, many people didn't pay attention to what morroco just did: it gave Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso access to its ports. Therefor making it impossible for ECOWAS to blackmail them with port access...
