This is not analysis . It is bullying and propaganda. At the end of the day all that we need from all the noisy data is

How much does it cost to produce and get one tuber of yam to market?? You have not told us because you do not know .

So what is all the noise about?
You are telling us

Nigerians should stop habit of complaining

Rubbish!!

What is the summary of all the noise ......weeding, pestcide blablabla
That is the cost of doing business.
What is the koko of producing one yam to market?

It's called mental laxity. I feel sorry on the fool that wasted money for your education. A cocoa farm would have been more profitable. Oloshi

As I write i'm in a farming community. No loans nothing. I can produce 1,000,000 - 5,000,000 yams. I have the knowledge, lands and resources where do we turn to for projects funding? The southerns should continue suffering please

Can you sell 5,000,000 tubers of yam?

I think the number one problem is selling their goods at the right value to the right market.

It's not always by working tirelessly.

apart from the yam, plantain is cheap down south and i would have thought food items would be cheap in the north but maybe due to lack of irrigation.

Who said north is not sweet to live? If you say insecurity challenges then it is everywhere now. Come and see cheep food items.

Plantain 2k
Yam 1400. The seller said 1500 but i bargained to 1400. 100 naira is still something.
Where exactly in the north?

5 Million tubers of yam can be processed to yam flour and stored for even more than seven months if it can't be sold.

Also, distributed across various markets in the country, 5 Million yams can be sold in max, 3 months

I didn't ask if it can be sold but if you can sell it.

Do you have access to facilities to process it into yam flour and bag it? How affordable is the entire process?

I'm not trying to be your enemy here sir but sometimes we need to be very though on ourselves.

The answers to some of these questions will expose why middle men who barely lift a finger are able to exploit most farmers.

I understand you clearly. You are absolutely right 1000%. Before i came into agriculture, I understudied how middle men impoverish the country. I.e we sell maize 20 Naira per cob, it is hiked to almost 100 Naira per cob. So, I've decided to cut middlemen across my production cycles.

Jesu!! Where are you people?
Here that plantain is over 3k and that yam is N1500 each
How can you get 3 of them for N1400?
What is going on?
It depends oh. With a large family like mine we basically buy in bulk and foodstuff is always cheaper when bought in bulk. That plantain 3k That's too expensive. The last bunch of plantain I bought in Hausa Quarter is #800 per bunch. At home here, 5 Plantain is #500 and we still complain that it's #100 per 1 which is too expensive.
