The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has said the presidency is a life-long ambition.

To this end, Atiku vowed to keep pushing until he succeeds in becoming Nigeria’s president.

Speaking with Financial Times, the PDP presidential candidate said he would keep pursuing his ambition as long as he is alive and healthy.

“It is a life-long ambition and as long as I’m alive and strong and healthy, I will continue pursuing it,” Atiku said.

The former Vice President is one of the top candidates vying for the 2023 presidential election.

It’s widely believed that the Waziri of Adamawa has been vying for the presidency since 1992 when he stepped down for MKO Abiola.

During the last presidential election, President Muhammadu Buhari defeated him to retain power.

However, mixed feelings have continued to trail Atiku’s 2023 presidential pursuit, as some believe that he has no chance while others feel he is better positioned to win.

You were not faithful to Nigeria and to your master as vice-president, that was the beginning of your problems to your presidential journey.

Kwankwaso has just 2 missions in this election:

1. To win the election

2. To make sure Atiku does not win it

He will prefer Peter Obi or Tinubu wins it if he doesn't, because he will rather wait for 8 years than wait for 16 years to try again, that's why he attacked Atiku more during the debate.

In 8 years time he probably will be the strongest northern candidate aside Vice-president Datti to contest based on age, experience and so on

if Atiku had lost the primary he will have decamped to another party to pick ticket or go back to Dubai

He's never a party person neither will he support any other candidate

he is no where to be found from late 2019 till early 2022

That makes Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's work easier. Atiku can afford to wait till the next 8 years.

Atiku Abubakar is the only obstacle that stands between Tinubu and the Aso rock.
