TEMPLE BOY AND DERAAS DIARY, FOLLOW THE JOURNEY UNTIL ITS RELEASE

Deraa’s pre-signing activities at SmallFace records was mostly surrounded with making new music and developing his creative and composition abilities. SmallFace organized four successful music production and recording boot camps, these camps featured outstanding music producers such as Magik, Dheveen, Joeson (Ayo) and Yoody. More than thirteen songs were recorded during this boot camp. The label stated that the magnificent outcome of this project put their best A&R’s in an indecisive position in regards to selection for Deraa’s first body of work, They advanced into selecting three which consists of August, Dialogue and party animal, to create the project Temple boy, as a test run mechanism to monitor Deraa’s progress when it comes to the marketing of body of works. The story behind temple boy explains how the culture from the pre-colonial era introduced a diverse kind of melody to the altar boys in religious communities in Africa such as Christianity, in which Deraa was a strong partaker.

The administration and influence of the colonizers amongst the Igbos was quite visible amongst musical talents who served in the church which was their landing ground for colonization, Deraa in his memory regress adventures discovered some of these melodies and brought them back to life.

The three tracks gave a positive receptive affirmation to a bigger project release and fostered a decision for an album by the label just two months after Temple Boy was created.

Eleven tracks were picked from the creative outcome of the boot camp, and the tracks were specifically surrounding one topic and one agenda, a testament of Deraa’s experience with love; from the impact of long distance relationship and finally losing the one love.

Deraa also claims that the melodies that initiated the creation of this project were gotten from other lifetimes through private hypnotherapeutic practices.

After the selection and arrangements of these tracks on the project, SmallFace record sprofessional A&Rs discovered that every song on the project has an inter-connection and storyline which prompted an album description analogy.

Full details about both projects including their descriptive analogies can be found at the labels
