One thing I won't do is to send my child abroad for his or her secondary education. Nah. The culture there is ridiculously alien and children are given a lot of leeway.

I can't give birth to a child and watch his life go wayward. In some parts of the US, there is a call for children as little as 8 years old to be able to choose their gender. Imagine an 8 year old boy saying he isn't a boy but a girl in a boys body, and he starts wearing make up, Skirts and walking like a girl...its a whole agenda to pervert the natural order of humanity.

Spare the rod and spoil the child.

I must admit I found his narrative hilarious and horrifying at the same time.

Yet, this is the reality we find ourselves. To be spat upon and abused in search of greener pastures.

Sticks and stones may break your bones but racist slurs will cut you like a knife.

My older brother who did his A levels in England was so shocked at how rude students were at their teachers. He would have been skinned alive if he tried half that shit at Maryland Comprehensive in Lagos

Actually, worse than these happen o. A 9ja accountant friend wanted to be doing part time Maths teacher many years ago. His taster day in a school was so horrible that he changed his mind on doing PGCE.

Students were throwing things around classroom, making loud noise, putting their feet on top of their desks, laughing, etc.

Throughout the session.

He said "I better quit before I murder some kids". grin cheesy cheesy

This from a very determined and nice Igbo guy o.

There are very good schools but they are more selective of both students and teachers.

Remember that most African teachers will end up in inner city schools that have trouble recruiting and retaining local British teachers.

Teachers of African descent should just prepare for the challenge ahead. It will be fairly easy for some but nightmare for others.

These narrations might seem unbelievable especially to the anything "abroad or oyibo geng is better" but it is the sad truth of the western society.

Africans becareful what you wish for or adopt, all that glitters is no gold.... because luxury without principles is disaster.

Parents ensure you raise your children properly enough for the good of yourselves and the society.... because you will be the first and major recipient of your parental success or failure before the general society.

The western societys' mannerisms, culture and ethics are messed up....only God can help them.

Well, we would just follow the standard procedure provided by the school. As long as there are teachers making a living there,we would do the same.

In theory, yes. But students will really push new teachers, especially if African and with your accent, etc.
Many African teachers just opt to be supply teachers, so that they can work in various schools and refuse to go back to the ones they don't like.

My friend, just prepare yourself for anything.
It applies to healthcare sector too. The vacancies are there for a reason.

As far back as 1999, when a girlfriend's friend, 28 years old and senior nurse was quitting nursing, I was initially surprised. She was close to being made a sister. She became a drugs company rep. Better pay and more flexibility.
When she explained that nursing was too stressful and poorly paid, I had to agree with her.

Imagine how stressful it is today. Don't even mention midwifery.

I know a guy who regrets not listening to his uncle's (a former Obs-Gynae turned GP in UK) advice not to continue with Obs-Gynae when he arrived in UK.

But still, those still with the energy and hunger for any job will still get on with it, for better for worse. Those wey dey do am nor get two heads, according to 9ja survivalist mantra. cheesy grin

You better believe it, and worse. It's called learning under natural circumstances!
#The reason why a Nigerian Business Admin student can't excel in selling pure-water is because they aren't thought under real-time Business Environment pressure!
#Like the head teacher in Op first encounter, "You need to first learn to bring your class under control before you earn the right(they'd trust your judgement afterward) to take them in class!
#i.e I once was trying to explain the importance of STANDING ORDER to a group of fellow students.
One itk guy stood up and mockingly asked, "Did l mean they should remain Standing like he is doing?!" The class went up in a roaring laughter.
Instead of getting mad, I decided to take charge.
When he wanted to sit, I told him to remain standing.
He started protesting that I can't punish him for asking a simple question, and I replied I only wanted to make him understand STANDING ORDERS in his own simple way. I insisted he remains standing.
I walked to the door and illustrated that if someone peep through the door to check on our instructor and immediately left - and I asked him later who did he see in the classroom - he will likely say, "Students sitting, with a particular guy in blue shirt standing."
"Just as that man differentiate you from the rest, STANDING ORDERS are those order that stands aside and cannot afford to be ignored."
I got a round of applause from the class; a right to teach them too!

UK will start recruiting teachers form Nigeria, some teachers will end up in prison.

I had to stop halfway during my getintoteaching program. Students are bastards, no respect for the principal. The boys smoke, the girls f**k around. 13years old students doing abortion anyhow.

They will call you stupid, fakeass and all terrible stuffs.

I remembered a Nigerian lady that slapped a student because she insulted her. She was suspended for 5months.

I pity guys that will be recruited. Girls will open their yansh in class, you dare not look, you look, you go to prison.

Year 3-Year 6 are the best, they obey.. anything above na die.

All in all, there are good students and good schools but 90% are shit heads.
