WhatsApp frequently discontinues support for several outdated devices each year. The Meta-owned messaging network won’t function after December 31 for more than 40 cellphones, including two older iPhones. See if your phone is included in the list. The least used and earliest operating systems and devices for WhatsApp are being retired. Currently, WhatsApp works with Android 4.1 and later, iOS 12, and KaiOS 2.5.0 and later (including the JioPhone and the JioPhone 2). 49 phones that won’t be able to use WhatsApp after December 31 are listed (via GizChina).
