In my view, the only deals Tinubu can make with them are as follows;

1. Concede Rivers State Governorship to Wike
2. Support Ugwuanyi and Ortom's Senatorial bids

No other deal substantially improves Tinubu's position. APC's Benue and Oyo governorship ambitions are bright so they may want to gamble it. Ugwuanyi can work towards 25% in Enugu State. Kalu and his likes will work hard to get 25% for APC in Abia so no reason to cut a deal with Ikpeazu. And because the Presidential election comes before the Governorship election, it gives Tinubu some leverage in the negotiations. Interesting couple of months ahead.

It's not about the president, v.p.,speaker and house of reps positions alone bro..

Ike ekweremadu., pius anyim pius., Ngozi okonjo iweala., prof soludo., the current cbn govenor emefiele, nddc heads...even goodluck jonathan., all this guys once held nigerian ecomony at hand. The question is how much impact do they have on the south-south and south-east region when they are in this positions?

Just see how the polices of Emefiele alone dey affect nigeria economy., either good or bad the impact can be felt.

The fact still remains that the south east region is divided., your leaders or representatives are only after their pockets., even to help their fellow brothers into positions they will rather dance to the tune of the northerners.

Buhari became president., see as he pack all him hausa brothers full positions, and those ones even put their families and cronies for strategic positions.

You guys need to play the politics right down there., build connections and trust with all other regions., because na trust issue dem get with you guys., most especially from the northerners.

My question still remains., with the little position held, how much impact do they have on southeast as a whole?

I sincerely doubt this is what played out in the meeting, we need to wait for the G5 to come out and give a statement, if that is what truly happened then they will join the IDPs, the G5 are not bigger than Nigerians, 2023 elections will not be business as usual.

Rerun how? There can never be a rerun because PDP and APC have the capacity to get 25% and above in 25 states or more. LP is the only party that doesn’t have the capacity to get 25% or more in more than 15 states. So, how exactly will there be a second ballot and even if it so happens, how will LP make it to the second ballot ahead of APC?

Even APC and PDP are are not sure of the out come... That is why dey are working extral hard to secure there vote in their home state...

I beg to differ!! The potus have come from just about 20% of all the states in the US since over 250 years of their democracy.

The SE has had about same period of leading this country as the SW....zik was first nigerian gov general,president and even first nigerian to be listed in the private council so was alex ekwueme vp for 5 years so also several legislative heads from SE.

Politics is give and take and its what you bring to the table that determines what you get....the parochial nature of SE politics which is ingrained in their quasi republican socio political ideologies is their greatest undoing. Their are very brilliant and astute politicians from the SE who can measure up to whomever the SW presents but the inability of most SEtnrs that you can't go this race alone is the bane of the region

They should not negotiate Benue. The APC will do well in the presidential election and Alia will win the governship election there. For Abia and enugu nothing will make them vote Apc,so no need to waste time there. For Oyo, Tinubu will definitely win there but teslim vs makinde is a fierce battle, so no need to negotiate anything there. The real negotiation should be with Wike, he can help Tinubu with his structure to get some impressive numbers in the presidential election.

Doesn't work like that. Only in agbado wonderland. Wike has to go against his people and party for Tinubu. That's a lot to ask. He can easily clinch a political seat in Rivers without Tinubu's help. Wike has no choice than to support APC. Because, L.P can never win the election, secondly PDP chairman and Wike are two great enemies.
Lastly, Romiti Amechi profited alot from APC being a Minister. He voluntary resigned after he bought ticket to run for the presidency.
