This type of tenant deserves nothing but Hot Shege.

The matter dey vex me sef, wish I know the owners, I will evict the bastarrd this 2022.

My rent will expire August 2023 but I'm moving January 2023!
I want change, can't remain there anymore cos the familiarity with the land lady is too much for me.
I fry Chicken, she'll start speaking yeeboe, I fry egusi na wahala...

Thank goodness, I'm an Active Dangote staff, I'm moving before it turns to Shege.
There are somethings nobody needs to tell you to do, it's common sense.
We must use our heads.
Na so! I only asked a question. Why tell me where you work? You cannot evict me this 2022 because you have to give me notice otherwise you will loose in court.

Bro, you are taking it personal. The house belongs to them and they can decide not to rent again to you. What they owe you is an advanced quit notice as a loyal tenant which they did by giving you a year to get another place. They might have intention to sell the house or even demolish it, it is their own decision and not to be discussed. Every good thing comes to an end one day, take it as a challenge to build your own house.
Thank you.

When I hear Nigerians say they want to sue people...I wonder if know the cost of going to court.

The judiciary in Nigeria is not reliable.

The cost of litigation in this country can be very expensive and annoying honestly.

Tenant and landlord can drag for more than that.

There are some victory that is worst than defeat. But leave those family and have peace of mind. Let the matter slide.

You cant sue them and you have no case. Even the court will know that you are a troublesome tenant.

Tenancy does last 6 months if you pay your lawyer.

Oga! Are you a lawyer?

Yes I am!

And your new landlords havea right to notify you of the termination of your contract of tenancy.

There is nothing like perpetual tenancy and your landlord and his heirs in title always always have a right to terminate your contract at the due and justiciable time, in consonance with Law even without any reason.

So they don't even need to tell you that they are renovating but as soon as your tenancy is expired, they have a right to reposess their property.

Unsolicited advice for the year.

Please, by all means, avoid anything that can make you become a regular in any Nigerian court.

If possible, find all means to settle out of court.

The drainage of energy, emotions, time, effort and resources as the complainant is not what I wish for you this year.

One court case is bad enough, not to talk of pursuing multiple cases at once, you will most likely keep feeding the officials of the law. (lawyers etc)

So once your instinct pick a hole in any major decision you are about to take, please take a long break from such decision till you have triple checked. (Could be business, investment or project)

May God order our steps and may we not work for others to spend this year.

I rest my case.

She is thinks to find a lawyer that she would use to steal her landlord's property because he is dead hence this thread.

She thought it was possible. it is really not about tenancy.

Probably nacking the landlord before his death, now feeling like she’s got the right as a wife, I see no other reason to sue them apart from that , you may have a case if one of your kids resemble the landlord.
