A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former House of Representatives Aspirant in Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Dr Jasper Adeleye Olusayero says President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders of Nigeria bill into law.

Jasper Adeleye in a statement issued to usher in 2023 expressed his delight for securing Presidential assent for the Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders of Nigeria (IMBLN) bill.

The Idanre Politician said the establishment of the Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders of Nigeria would sanitize the sector, eliminate fraudsters and create job opportunities.

According to him, the process of getting the bill passed at the National Assembly started years back and this has been quite a long walk for us.

He appreciated the President, leadership of the two Chambers, Hon Bagos who sponsored the bill and other lawmakers that believed in his vision.

Adeleye stated that Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders will help to instill professionalism in the mortgage sector and facilitate the provision of more affordable housing facilities in Nigeria.

Our Correspondent reports that The Act establishes the Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders to make provisions for determining the standard of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons to be Chartered Mortgage Professionals, Chartered Mortgage Lenders, Chartered Mortgage Brokers, Chartered Estate Brokers, Certified Mortgage Agents and Chartered Estate Agents in Nigeria.
