WHY MUST WE PREACH THE GOSPEL

__It's the only way to demonstrate God's love to the world. John 3:16

__Its the only way to produce sons of God.
John 1:12

__It's a command from God and not a request. Mark 16:18

__The mandate of every believer is *To KNOW Christ* and make him *KNOWN to the world.*

We are the manifestation (dhihirisho) of his knowledge. And this is *EVANGELISM* in simple terms.
*But for you to preach it effectively, knowledge of the person of Jesus Christ is vital.*

__ In Luke 24:25-27,44-46...He taught them the things *CONCERNING* himself. He told them what he has done and now comes to tell them what they should do in Vs 47.

*"And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."*


2 Corinthians 2:14
*But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,* (AMP)

__So you're an *HERALD; a newscaster* of the gospel of Christ. Observe how this version rendered it;

"… *God uses us to spread his knowledge everywhere like a sweet-smelling perfume.* (NCV)

__We are TROPHIES of Christ’s victory.

__We are the VESSEL of the knowledge of Christ everywhere.

__Salvation comes with RESPONSIBILITY. To make known that knowledge in every place.

Mark 16:15
"…we are to go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Acts 1:8
"... and ye shall be WITNESSES..."

__ The word, ‘witnesses’ means EVIDENCE.
*We are the evidence of the FINISHED WORK of REDEMPTION.* That evidence is demonstrated when the KNOWLEDGE (what he has done in us) is made MANIFEST everywhere. And that's our ministry to the world.

2nd Corinthians 5:18
"... *that God was in Christ, RECONCILING the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.*


__Having been reconciled, you are now a minister of that reconciliation. *You are qualified by believing.*

__So our place in Christ, who we are in Christ, is a *MESSAGE* for us in Christ. My knowledge of who I am in Christ has become my message to the world. So I must know how to share and explain my faith.

__Know that the gospel is for everybody.
The word gospel simply means *GOOD NEWS.* Many do not know what the gospel is. If you back up to vs. 8-14 of Mark 16, you will observe their conversation.

*WHAT WAS THE GOOD NEWS THERE?*

• He just told them he rose from the dead,

• He just told them he is triumphant over the devil,

• He told them all authority is given to him and

• He said go and preach the good news to every creature.

*SO WHAT COULD THAT GOOD NEWS BE?*

__The good news is what he has just told them. What he has done. And for that Paul states clearly in Romans 1:16

*"... the Gospel of Christ, is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..."*
For it is the power of God to everyone that believes’ means it has INHERENT POWER.

*The power of God is only manifested in salvation.*

__He said the gospel is the power to everyone that believe.
*What power?*
The gospel has God's *RIGHTEOUSNESS*.
The just shall live by faith,

*HOW?* That means by BELIEVING the Gospel, you become righteous.
So the gospel has the power to make a sinner a RIGHTEOUS man.

*How?* – by faith, by believing. Faith in the Gospel of Christ makes a sinner righteous.

*WHAT ARE THE DETAILS OF THE GOSPEL?*

1st Corinthians 15:1-4

__So the gospel is about *Jesus’ DEATH , BURIAL and RESURRECTION for humanity.*

__ It’s also called the Gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24

__ The Gospel that Paul preached is the revelation of Jesus, the preaching of Jesus. Romans 16:25

__It is called the gospel of Christ. 1st Timothy 1:11

__ The gospel therefore is news, that is, TO SHARE NEWS about what CHRIST HAS DONE.

*WHAT NEWS?*

*_Notice that when you hear a piece of news repeatedly e.g, on TV you get bored. However, to the person who is hearing it for the first time, it is news to him. You are bored at it because you are not telling it to someone. What you know about Jesus is still news to many people.*_

Ad mentioned earlier, This is what we call the gospel of Jesus Christ;

Ephesians 1:3-14

__Who hath *BLESSED* us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places *IN CHRIST:*

__ He hath *CHOSEN* us in HIM that we should *BE HOLY* and without blame before him in love:

__Having predestinated us unto the *ADOPTION* of children by Jesus Christ to himself.


__ In whom we *HAVE REDEMPTION* through his blood, the *FORGIVENESS of sins.*

__ He has made known unto us the mystery of *his WILL,* according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

__ We have obtained an *INHERITANCE.*


__ We're *SEALED* with that *PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT* he is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

*Why should you share this news to your friends who have not known Christ Jesus?*
