I was just wondering what the Jamaicans are doing that keep them going and going in the world ranking that Nigeria can't not do? for example just concluded IA AF - Daegu2011, Nigeria is no where to be found, I was really ashamed of this, a Country of over 150million people, where are a great sporting Country but seems something is not right can we call on appropriate quarters to work on quality athletics before London 2012.

Many reasons. Management, Age cheating, FOOTBALL, and lack of interest.
Management: Our Athletes arent been looked after properly, hence the best are been snapped up by foreign countries. Philip Idowu won silver in T.Jump. We no longer develop athletes from secondary school
Age cheating: Our 'YOUNG' athletes are actually aged. We cannot develop younger ones becos the agbayas have taken over
Football: Most talents prefer to go into football. Ahmed Musa is an example. Am very sure Ahmed Musa can read 100m final if well coached. Uchenna Emedolu won our last 100m medal at a world champs. He quit footy!
Lack of interest, and Tribalism (I wont mention much on this today)
Pride: Anyone who watched our female relay race in 4 X 100m will notice that there was a big flop in the last leg. Everyone knows that Damola Osayomi should have anchored that leg. She is a reactive runner. Though Blessing Okagbare reached final of 100m, she is not reactive as her technique and height arent really supportive of the drive. Okagbare would have been best used in 2nd lap where Osayomi ran. Anyone who likes to know more should see the video of the last Olympic 4X100m female. Osayomi got the baton 6th and ended 3rd! Today Okagbare got the baton 4th and ended 8th!
