Mass defection hits Katsina APC as 27000 members decamp to PDP



…PDP governorship candidate promises to end insecurity


No fewer than 27,300 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katisna State, yesterday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sandamu Local Government Area of the State.







Receiving the defectors, PDP governorship candidate, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, promised the party supporters that his priorities will focus in restoring peace, boost economy status of the State, agriculture and education if elected.







He noted that his government will pay keen attention to restoration of peace and security, lost glory of education, boost food sufficiency, create an enabling environment for women and youth for self-reliance among other social amenities.







Lado said, “only PDP has the people’s interest at heart because we have tested for 16 years and you all saw it and no one will say he has not enjoyed the time we ruled the country and the State.



“Now, under the APC regime, people are being killed everyday, our women are being raped, people are being kidnapped on daily basis for ransom and until you sell your piece of land, you will not get the ransom.



“They made you poor, you cannot afford your children’s school fees again due to inflation.



“They made you jobless, hardship everywhere.



“I am assuring you, if God gives us victory at the polls, we will first and within a shortest possible time, focus on restoring security of lives and property where people will live without any fear and and sleep with their two eyes closed.



“We will create job opportunities for our teeming youth and women through skills and empowerment programmes.



“Again, the lost glory of education will be our topmost priority if elected.



“We will introduce irrigation system of farming to make sure our farmers enjoy the benefits of farming and to as well boost agriculture for food sufficiency.



“Areas that are in need of water, we will make sure we fulfil that too and as soon as we take the mantle of leadership come next month, God’s willing.



“Vote Atiku Abubakar for president. You all know that he promised to open our closed borders once he sworn in. He is a man of his word,” Lado stated.
