Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Portugal forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, who will wear the number 11 jersey.

Felix, 23, has signed a 6-month loan contract at Stamford Bridge, with the club securing his services for £9.69m.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Felix extended his contract with Atletico until June 2027 before departing for Chelsea.

Romano also disclosed that the transfer doesn’t include any buy option clause.

Atletico signed Felix from Benfica in 2019 for £113 million, a record fee for both clubs. He scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists in 131 appearances.

“Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge,” Felix told Chelsea official website.

The Portuguese has played 28 times for his country, scoring 4 goals.

With his arrival, he becomes Chelsea's fourth January signing after David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos.
