Ex-Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha saw the funny side after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp failed to realise he was a former footballer. His fellow ESPN pundits found it hilarious as Klopp wondered if the former defender had “ever played football” when being interviewed by Onuoha after Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Wolves in the FA Cup third round. After Onouha asked him about how the game panned out, Klopp said: “I’m not sure if you’ve played football, but these kinds of things happen.” Not only has Onouha played football before but the Nigeria-born defender had a more decorated career than Klopp, who didn’t play one top-flight game in his career. Klopp scored 56 goals compared to Onouha’s 15 but the former Man City man played 232 of his 426 career appearances in the Premier League. And Onouha admits he kept quiet because he didn’t want any “sort of argument” to come from the situation with the Liverpool boss. “If he was in a good mood I probably would have said something back,” Onouha said on ESPN as his colleagues laughed. “But he wasn’t in a good mood at all.
