The legal team of Sen. Sandy Onor is currently experiencing turmoil and disunity as lead counsel Mba Ukweni, SAN and another lawyer, First Baba Isa are locking horns on who should lead the legal team in the case between Sandy Onor and Sen. Prince Otu.

First Baba Isa who is rumoured to have hinted Sandy Onor of the dual citizenship status of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Hon.Peter Odey and encouraged him to institute a legal action against the later in court was later reportedly outsmarted by Mba Ukweni, SAN due to his closeness with Sen Onor.

“In his usual arrogance and pride he decided to play a smart one on us with the aim of taking over the legal team using his closeness with Sen Sandy” a source close to Mr. Baba Isa who pleaded anonymity had weeks ago, confided in our reporter while the matter was at the federal high court.

First Baba Isa was reported to have gotten very furious with the action of the senior advocate that confronted Sen. Sandy, threatening to withdraw from the legal team. He was also reported to have swore to hide further evidence that will give the team any advantage in the matter.


At the federal high court, before the matter was embarrassingly stroke out, Mba Ukweni, SAN, while presenting his argument before his Lordship, repeatedly stammered, It took repeated intervention of Barr. Baba Isa to guide him.

At the Appeal Court hearing today, Mba Ukweni, SAN was conspicuously absent from the court, as Barr. Baba Isa made his appearance as lead counsel for the appellant, (Sen. Sandy Onor) a clear confirmation that Mba Ukweni, SAN may have been sidelined from the legal team. Some PDP members who are supporting Baba Isa’s leadership of the legal team, praised the tenacity of Barr. Isa and chided Mba Ukweni’s arrogance in attempting to outsmart another lawyer who first saw the need to institute the matter.

When the matter came up today for hearing, the court headed by Justice, R.C Agbo, adjourned the case for tomorrow over failure of the appellant to serve hearing notice on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
