Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has denied being afflicted by cancer.

Aregbesola, who is currently on lesser pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, spoke through the Director, Bureau of Communications and Information, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, in an electronic mail on Sunday.

Debunking a newspaper publication (not The PUNCH), which claimed the governor was suffering from cancer, the statement said Aregbesola was hale and hearty.

The statement condemned the cancer story in its entirety even as it called on journalists to embrace fairness, truth, balance and objectivity in news reporting.

Dude, I'm wondering what landmark achievements Aregbesola is claiming? What is there to be envious of about in a grown man who is as airily vocal as a canary, but with absolute zero to show for his mouthiness? The mans state is crying for attention while he gallivants the Globe, I'm sure his deputy would do better.

It is easy to summarrise his "achievements" as being:

[li]the first Nigerian to "govern" a state by fax, email and text messages[/li]

[li]poke nose in and supervise the formation of Fashola's cabinet. . . while 9 months into his administration, he still had NONE[/li]
[li]spend more more on air tickets and estacode than what is required to pay workers, only to turn round and claim that. . .[/li]
[li]he was not elected to pay workers. Gaddem![/li]
[li]claiming the routine employment of labourers to cut grass as a major achievement. Unu go wound o! [/li]
