BREAKING NEWS: ⚔️The president of Zelensky's advisor and prominent war journalist Oleksiy Arestovych has tended to his resignation.

This is in response to the negative feedback he received after asserting that an air defence system took down the Russian missile that damaged an apartment complex in Dnipro.

An adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky resigned after suggesting that Ukrainian air defense systems may have been responsible for the deadly damage in Dnipro to an apartment building, which was devastated Saturday as Russian missiles rained down across Ukraine. The adviser, Oleksiy Arestovych, later distanced himself from the suggestion, but it was used by the Kremlin to cast doubt on who was to blame. Arestovych apologized on Ukrainian television and said in a letter announcing his resignation that he had made a “fundamental error.”

Ukraine’s calls for more military aid — including advanced Western air defense systems and tanks — are likely to dominate the agenda this week as top U.S. officials and allies meet in Europe. NATO defense chiefs are gathering in Brussels on Wednesday, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will join members of the Ukraine Contact Group, a body of about 50 nations that meets to discuss Kyiv’s needs, on Thursday.
Here’s the latest on the war and its ripple effects across the globe.
1. Key developments
Authorities do not expect to find many more survivors in Dnipro. At least 44 people are dead, including four children, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported Tuesday, and 20 are missing.
It is “highly likely” that a Russian bomber hit the Dnipro building with an AS-4 “Kitchen” anti-ship missile, Britain’s Defense Ministry said, adding that the missile is notoriously inaccurate in urban settings. Ukrainian officials accused Russia earlier this week of using the same type of missile, also known as a Kh-22, but said that it came from Russia’s Kursk region. On Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia does not strike residential buildings and suggested that Ukraine’s air defenses may have been responsible, echoing Arestovych’s initial remark.
President Vladimir Putin ordered the number of service members in Russia’s armed forces to be increased to 1.5 million, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced. The vow, which came amid promises of broader organizational changes, is the latest effort by Russian officials to professionalize an army plagued by reports of corruption and basic operating problems. The total number of currently active Russian service members is not clear, but Moscow previously announced intentions to expand the military’s size to more than 1.1 million members by Jan. 1.
Ukraine’s army is retaining its positions in Soledar, an army official told The Washington Post, following claims by pro-Russian forces that the small salt mining town in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region was captured Tuesday. “Our positions remain,” Ukrainian army spokesman Serhiy Cherevaty said. Soledar has been the scene of a “bloodbath,” its regional governor said last week, as Russian forces attempt to capture the town, which is a gateway to the contested city of Bakhmut.

🇪🇺 If Russia stops hitting Ukrainian infrastructure, the EU will encourage Kyiv to a peace agreement - Italian Foreign Minister Tajani

📝 “European countries will be able to ask Ukraine to start peace talks only if Russia stops striking infrastructure facilities,” said the head of the diplomatic department, Antonio Tajani, apparently voicing the common desire of the countries of the Old World (Germany, France, Italy), which are tired from spending on Ukraine.

Gradually, EU members are letting go of all the bravado about the 1991 borders, the Ukrainian Crimea, and the counter-offensive in the Donbass.

Moscow will take them seriously after the Nazi regime stop thier terroristic insurgency in the Donbass territories.
The ramp up in strikes on critical infrastructure was a result of Kiev's terror attack in Crimea (the Crimean bridge incident).
Kiev and Moscow engaged in negotiations last year but Kiev was disingenuous and crippled these negotiations at the behest of the West/US.
Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian president Pyotr Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”

Shortly before the hostilities broke out, the Kremlin recognized the Donbass republics as independent states and demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join any Western military bloc. Last September, Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, were incorporated into Russia following referendums.

Can we say this isn't another ploy to "buy time" ?
Do they think they can deceive Russia again?
Russia strikes infrastructures that are critical to sustaining the Nazi terrorists combat capability. They're legitimate targets.
