Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has said that the letter requesting for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will get to the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in a matter of days, IGBERETV reports.

Recall that during the APGA Campaign Flag-off at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Governor Soludo placed a demand for the unconditional release of the IPOB leader.

Speaking in a recent interview with Channels TV, Governor Soludo insisted that for the peace and security of the South East, there is need for stakeholders to rally round the table to discuss, to which Nnamdi Kanu is a critical component. He asked the Federal government to grant Kanu unconditional release or release him on administrative bail for which he is ready to stand as a surety.

''He will receive that letter in a few days time. I am very serious about this and because it is not about Chukwuma Soludo. It is about the lives, security and properity of the entire Southeast.

We need to be serious about tjis. We want this election to go peacefully in the SouthEast, we want everybody to participate. We want long term transformation of this place to become very secured and prosperous components of Nigeria but you need all the stakeholders around the table.

There is someone who is critical in this conversation. We need him around the table. We can't have sustainable prosperity if we can't have sustainable peace and to have that sustainable security, we need the critical forces around the table and that is why I will continue to push on this and I want to believe that other leaders in the SouthEast and all men and women of good will in Nigeria will join in this call because we want the SouthEast to be part of this election.

We need Nnamdi Kanu and like I said, my request is in two folds. Either grant him unconditional release as per the court judgement or if there are other circumstances or reasons why he is being held, then grant him administrative bail and I am prepared to stand as surety I don't even mind to keep him here at the government house and to provide him whenever he is required'', he said.
