What If Nigerians Continue With Old Naira Notes? by osuulola(m): 1:20pm On Jan 26, 2023 |
What happens if Nigerians continue to spend the 'old' currency notes after the 31st of January? Banks will not collect it into their vaults but the people can continue with it as a recognized legal tender. Can't they? Will that create a parallel economy like we have a parallel forex market that is not regulated by the CBN? How the Biafran pound continue to be a legal tender in some countries after the country Biafra became dissolved back into Nigeria? |

Since he is so sure he can't stop him why did he start making an issue of it in the first instance? Is that how to campaign? A candidate of the same party in power criticizing the policies of his party in government? If he is really sure of himself and APC/Buhari's legacies he plans to build upon, why is he not further advising Nigerians of the positive sides of the currency swap policy? Why make it look like the APC powers that be are against him by changing the naira note and orchestrating fuel scarcity? Is it not since the beginning of 2022 that there has been perennial petrol scarcity nationwide? Why did he never advise his party in power to address the issues if he really loves and cares for Nigerians? Why the whining and vacuous noise-making during election campaigns barely 1 month to the time? Is it now he realizes it is a problem? Moh247: 2 Likes |

And so the old notes remained legal tender not because politicians are more powerful than the system but because you cannot create chaos and except the system to approve of it. PS : Nigerians are already forgetting there was ever a cash crunch. Our nation is a collective amnesia. |

THE BANKS CEOs ARE CULPRITS TOO. THEY SEEM TO BE SHORING UP NAIRA TO STORE DOLLARS FOR THEMSELVES. I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY MUDASSIR WOULD SELL UK UBN PROPERTIES PRIVATELY TO FIDELITY BANK? THERE ARE SOME INTRINSIC LOOTINGS BEING SCHEMED UP BY EMEFIELE AND SOME BANKS' CEOS. |
