See Your Call To Service As A Call To Higher Responsibility And Accountability - by Authentic79xp(f): 9:20pm On Jan 27, 2023
The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has called on the 2023 Batch A Stream 1 Corps Members deployed to Osun State and those dislodged from Lagos State to see their call to service as a call to a higher responsibility and Accountability.

Adeleke made the call while declaring the Orientation Course for the Batch open at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Friday. He urged the Members to regard their mobilisation for the service year with sincerity of purpose and a passion to make a change rather than see it as a sheer waste of time.

Adeleke called on the Corps Members to devote themselves to discovering ways to impact and improve upon the different sectors they will be deployed to by the NYSC Management. To achieve this, he stated that the Members must take their Orientation trainings seriously and purposefully.

He assured of the government's support and committment to providing adequate security and a conducive environment for the Corps Members to enhance their productivity and optimisation.

Speaking on Skills Acquisition, Adeleke charged the Corps Members to join in making the economy bigger and better by embracing skill acquisition and tolling the path of Entrepreneurship.

"Be creative and innovative. Imbibe the mindset of an entrepreneur and toll the path of diligence, hard work and industry. These are the keys to lasting success."

Adeleke emphasised on the need for the members to obey all rules and regulations, embracing peaceful coexistence, wholesome friendship and the virtue of honesty in all their dealings. He charged them to uphold the good name of the Scheme as the General Election is fast approaching.

In her introductory address, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Olayinka Abdulwahab thanked the Governor and Good people of the State for their continued support for the NYSC Scheme in Osun State. She described the support as a motivating factor for Corps Members serving in the State.

Abdulwahab also highlighted the importance and purpose of the Orientation Course. She stated that it is the first cardinal programme of the Scheme which gives the members a better understanding of the Scheme, familiarises them with their State of deployment and also prepares them for their unique roles in nation building.

Abdulwahab called on the Corps Members to take their Orientation seriously and ensure active participation in all activities. She enjoined them to be team players and sharpen their interpersonal skills through the programmes and healthy interplatoon competitions packaged in the Orientation programme.

While calling on the government and Corps Employers for more support for the Scheme through reviewed allowance and robust welfare for Corps Members, and renovation and expansion of Camp facilities, Abdulwahab charged the Batch Members to put to good use their social media by eschewing rumour mongering and other social vices while embracing love, unity and humanitarianism.

The National Pledge and NYSC Oath of Allegiance were administered by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo who was represented by Hon. Justice Mathias Agboola.

Guests were thrilled to a tug of war and cultural dance by the NYSC Osun State Cultural Troupe.
