To host your frontend, you can deploy to sites like netlify, github pages and vercel.

For backend, use render, railway, cloudflare pages etc

If you are talking about creating a hosting service of your own, then you can use gcp, aws etc

Following closely... I once thought about this.. did some google and YouTube search. I got some information about installing an Ubuntu os etc. Having a stable internet connection and 247 power.

You are better off deploying on linode than maintaining your own dedicated server, except you have constant electricity and internet.

I am not suggesting anything but CAC website goes down on weekends. Possibly when inverter don die.

What is the new school

Install a Linux distro on the PC you want to host a website

Then install nginx

Using a Raspberry Pi would be best in terms of hardware and electricity cost.

WHMCS reseller hosting or you on cloud/server on your own data center which requires Linux OS and constant power supply with good hard disk drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) with good router connection .

The problem here is that your pc must have an IP allocated and dns lookup for that ip must route to your machine.

So to make it easy you have to look for a machine with a public IP that can forward the request to your custom machine
