Until the banks stop paying out old notes, the deadline for the use of the old notes will be extended again and again.

Back in 2014, we had a centenary/celebratory NGN100 note. It circulated for a while and then disappeared. Nobody was coerced to return the money to the bank with a deadline.

Also, the N10, N20 and N50 were once paper notes. And then they were phased out and replaced with their polymer versions. Again, there was no deadline.

The banks control these things. Let the banks keep receiving old naira notes and consistently pay out new ones and watch as the old notes disappear automatically.

I think the CBN is intentionally trying to make Naira scarce by rendering the old notes unusable and making the new notes unavailable. The politicians have since found their way. It's the masses that are bearing the brunt.

You know Nigerians no really they use their brain reason.

Normally the supply of new currency would get to the hands of the Rich mrn first before the ordinary masses.
I can tell you today that if people gazzeth, Sahara reporters and David hundeyin can push the narrative that the redisgn is a deliberate act by Buhari and Tinubu to rig the election, people would start criticising the act once more.
Just tell them that Tinubu and Apc governors have hoarded the cash, thereby creating artificial scarcity so as to make vote buying Easy on election day. Those praising would start complaining on how it affects them.

No doubt the redesign is a Good policy but until this Monday, even banks were dispensing old cash.
Politicians would always buy bank managers away.
They have their way, even ordinary masses can lobby his way to get enough cash if he's ready to get a small cut of the original value. It's just how it is.
The masses are the ones suffering not the politicians.

APC is cunning.
Their game of distraction is really working.
The main aim is to make sure there's isn't enough naira for the opposition while avoiding responsibility and insulating themselves from the hardship the hardship ordinary Nigerians would face.
An extension was certain but they won't release enough money to sabotage thier plan.

Money is not an issue for major players as there are alternatives.

Tinubu isn't the best for Nigeria but Peter Obi is the worst.
After Tinubu, Kwankwaso or Atiku but not Obi.
