Group Exposes Akpabio's Plot To Distsbilize APC by ogugwa1992: 7:08am On Jan 30, 2023
... Group petitions National Chairman

By today, January 30 the Presidential campaign train of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by the party flagbearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, his runningmate, Senator Kashim Shettima and national officers will stop over in Akwa Ibom State for it's rally, but may likely meet a completely distabilized state chapter, no thanks to Senator Godswill Akpabio's self serving and vengeful politic.

Akpabio, the National Vice Chairman of APC Presidential Campaign Council, has been accused of plotting to distabilize the party with his fractious antics which could destroy its chances in the forthcoming general elections. A youth group - APC YOUTH CAUCUS, AKWA IBOM NORTH WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT, has written to the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, urging him to call Akpabio to order.

According to the group, "Akpabo has gone completely beserk with his self serving plot to use threats and blackmail to coerce party stalwarts and members to do his bidding".

They disclosed that " from events currently unfolding, we believe the distinguished senator, who harbours obvious disdain for electoral process, is much after federal appointment knowing fully well that he stands no chance in the coming election. So, he has resorted to rubbing tar on everyone else just to stand out."

Furthermore, they accused the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs of sponsoring party ward officers to write baseless petitions against chieftains upon which his stooge, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, would then use as evidence to wrongfully suspend their victims without any form of investigation nor fair hearing.

"We have reasons to strongly believe that Senator Akpabo is currently planning a mischief against party elders from Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district. He wants to hide behind some misguided youths to spread tar on our elders. Needless to add that such thoughtless venture against our leaders will only serve to fuel more crisis capable of further distabilizing the party." The petition read in parts.

He expressed disappointment over such unnecessary witch-hunting when serious efforts are being made to unite the party.
" We are appalled by such Machiavellian tactics which negate the essence of ongoing reconciliation efforts to unite our party and forge a common front ahead of elections."

They also alleged that Senator Akpabio has perfected plans to have some party youths attack the former minister of petroleum and APC chieftain, Atuekong Don Etiebet, during the presidential campaign rally, and therefore warned that "we have already set out a counter measure against any attempt to embarrass our political leader, however in order to forestall mayhem and further distabilization of the party, we thought it wise to bring this matter to your attention and urge you to use your good office to call Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio to order".

Senator Abdullahi Adamu,
The National Chairman,
All Progressives Congress (APC),
40 Blantyre Cres, Wuse 2 904101,
Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

Dear Chairman,

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: SENATOR GODSWILL AKPABIO HAS GONE BESERK WITH SELF SERVING PLANS TO DISTABILIZE OUR PARTY

1) We, the concerned youth leaders, party faithful, supporters and canvassers, under the aegis of APC YOUTH CAUCUS, AKWA IBOM NORTH WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT, have been constrained to write openly to intimate you of worrying events orchestrated by former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, which we believe may further distabilize, disintegrate and destroy the party chances at the 2023 polls.

2) As you are aware that Senator Akpabio's inordinate inert political power mongering (quoting our political leader, Atuekong Don Etiebet), fractious and divisive tendencies are solely responsible for the chaotic state of affairs within Akwa Ibom State APC. Now, Akpabo has gone completely beserk with his self serving plot to use threats and blackmail to coerce party stalwarts and members to do his bidding.

3) Aside leading a campaign of calumny against perceived enemies, Akpaboio is sponsoring party ward officers to write baseless petitions against chieftains in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, upon which his stooge, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, would then use as evidence to wrongfully suspend their targets without any form of investigation nor fair hearing. We are appalled by such Machiavellian tactics which negate the essence of ongoing reconciliation efforts to unite our party and forge a common front ahead of elections.

4) We have reasons to strongly believe that Senator Akpabo is currently planning a mischief against party elders from Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial district. He wants to hide behind some misguided youths to spread tar on our elders. Needless to add that such thoughtless venture against our leaders will only serve to fuel more crisis capable of further distabilizing the party.

5) Similarly, we have it on good authority that Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has instructed some misguided youths within his dwindling sphere of influence to attack our political leader and former Minister of Petroleum, Atuekong Don Etiebet, during the forthcoming APC Presidential Campaign Rally in Akwa Ibom State. We have been reliably informed that he has ordered that Etiebet and other party stalwarts from our senatorial district be booed and stoned during the campaign rally.

6) Consequently, we have already set out a counter measure against any attempt to embarrass our political leader, however in order to forestall mayhem and further distabilization of the party, we thought it wise to bring this matter to your attention and urge you to use your good office to call Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio to order.

7) We state categorically that from events currently unfolding, we believe the former minister, who harbours obvious disdain for electoral process, is much after federal appointment knowing fully well that he stands no chance in the coming election. So, he has resorted to rubbing tar on everyone else just to stand out.

8. Finally, Akpabio may have paid his way onto the ballot paper, aided by skewed judicial process and conniving corrupt officials. Nevertheless, be rest assured that the people of ABAK 5 (whom he has cajoled, abused and mocked publicly over the years) and their sympathizers across all the federal constituencies making up Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, have unanimously pledged to vote him OUT. Also, we are on oath to defend our vote with every ounce of our collective will.

9) It is our prayer therefore that you expedite action to caution Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio against his cheap blackmail inecxeaass attack on our political leader or else we will not be held responsible for repercussions.

Please be assured of our highest esteem always.
