Assailants attacked a police station in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. And this resulted in the death of two members of the state vigilante service.

The cause of the attack is unknown. But it occurred on a Friday night. According to sources, the attackers encountered the vigilantes on patrol and opened fire. They killed two of them.

There are conflicting reports about the number of vigilantes killed, with some sources saying two and others saying three. The attackers attempted to gain entrance to the police station by shooting sporadically and throwing a petrol bomb. This caused a fire and damaged the roof of the building.

Despite their efforts, the attackers were unable to gain access to the police station as they were repelled by the police personnel on duty. The police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the events.
