Its a fact by our Political History that Nigeria is an Authoritarian Democracy. Whatever scenes we are having are all structures to manipulate electoral victory in favor of the most powerful throne bidder. Political conflicts between parties and aspirants, protests, discrimination, economic turmoils and insecurity are all constructs of the incoming government. These are all characteristics of an Authoritarian State. The only way to really expect our projections and aspirations is only by destroying(Abolishing) this system and installing a system which works to eliminate these disheartening occurrences in Nigeria today. See let us be frank with ourselves, if its a fact from journals and daily papers that there are cabals and influence rings that decide the fate of who to rule in Nigeria, then will the election results be a true reflection of vote casts?
Most Times i see a Nigerian Voters strike on an election day as an effective way to check the system and correct it. If we don't vote, will they still announce a winner? Hmh... Elections are a very essential part of a true democracy and all inputs that will enable its smooth free and fair process are never underestimated. u get? Why all these nyama nyama like say we dull we no know wetin de boil for pot...
Come on we are now smarter than all these. Putting nationalistic efforts not only in election but in as well as modifying acts in the constitution is another way to change the country...there are constitutional procedures to this. Thank God open protests are now the order of the day.
Yes we have changed and we are still changing for the better but have we inscribed such new values into the state structure in that its maintenance is guaranteed?
Everybody is just projecting possible outcome however deep down in our hearts we know its biggest don that will have the throne. So why waste efforts on whats not working that has not changed?
If we don't change the principles and maintain it, the cabals will always have the advantage and they cant be blamed for there was a play of political ignorance.
Amidst these currency exchange crisis, fuel hike and scarcity to irresponsible PVC distribution , A leader will emerge, he/she will favor some and disfavor some, others can bear. The whole thing lies on the management of the state if you are benefiting or not. Our responsibility is to shape Nigeria to benefit at least 80% of its inhabitants.
We cant beat them by trying to change them by only elections. Its not enough.
Changing Nigeria requires multiple effective democratic procedures.
If a leader emerges that you feel is not supposed to win, defeat must be accepted however to change the country requires a legal fight too not just thumb printing.
