Ibeto Cement Company Challenges The Monopoly Of The Dangote Group In Nigeria by Orikinla(m): 10:19am On Aug 29, 2007
Anyone who is well informed on the power brokers of business in Nigeria knows that, the Dangote Group has a monopoly of cement import and this is also the Achilles’ heel of Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Before you comment on this topic, please read MONOPOLISTIC OPERATION IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY IS BAD FOR NIGERIA, the public statement of the Ibeto Cement Company Limited, published on pages 54 and 55 of The Guardian of Nigeria on Monday August 27, 2007.

It is worth reading, because it raised many questions on the shady deals of the Dangote Group in the monopoly of the cement industry in Nigeria and how the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Matthew Obasanjo was implicated in the illegal shutting down of the cement bagging plant of Ibeto Cement Company Limited. Because, he wanted to favour the Dangote Mafia in the monopoly of the cement industry in Nigeria.

The press statement is raising dust in the corrupt management of the cement industry in Nigeria and this is a challenge to the government of President Umaru Yar'Adua to probe the operations of all the stakeholders in the cement industry and make sure that justice is done.
