Premier League giants Manchester City have been charged by the Premier League for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) Rules.

The defending champions are now facing more than 100 alleged breaches of regulations guiding Premier League clubs on the conduct of financial dealings.

The alleged breaches of financial regulations by City was announced by the Premier League on its website.

The statement comes with a bold declaration by the Premier League that the club has been charged after it has found evidence of the alleged financial irregularities over the course of nine years, starting from 2009/10 to 2017/2018 season.

Excerpts from the full statements of the Premier League on the said allegation reads;

“In accordance with Premier League Rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today referred a number of alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules by Manchester City Football Club to a Commission.”
