The 65th annual Grammy awards took place on the 6th of February, 2023, and it honoured many talented artists with its prestigious awards.The night had many pleasant surprises and record- breaking moments. Nigerian singer and songwriter Tems got her first Grammy Award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.It was in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for ‘Wait for U’, a song by Future featuring her and Canadian rapper Drake. Consequently, she has received the Grammys, America’s most prestigious award for music, for her featured vocals and composition. The 2022 track won out over songs from other artists including Jack Harlow (“First Class”) Kendrick Lamar (“Die Hard”) Latto (“Big Energy (Live)”) DJ Khaled (“Beautiful”) None of the artists was at the Grammys to accept the award. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP09GUQFDFk Meanwhile Burna boy’ lost his nominations in both categories. The African giant was beaten by Japan’s Masa Takumi to win the best Global Album category and South African’s Zake Bantwini, Wouter Kellerman and Nomcebo Zikode to win the Best Global music performance category.
