An extension is 100% possible with the old naira been allowed to be used alongside the ghost new naira notes, CBN failed woefully on this

This is going to be the outcome of the meeting, cbn will allow both the old and new no to co-exist, they will lie that their reason for allowing both note to co-exist is lack of materials to print the required amount of new note, the will also accuse some bank workers of hoarding and selling the new note to politicians and pos agents. This is going to be the outcome of the meeting.
Exactly!!!!

No it's not nonsense, the cash withdrawal limit of 20k should solve that vote buying issues politicans can't withdraw millions again
Re: CBN Top Officials Meet Monday Over Naira Crisis by maasoap(m): 6:01pm On Feb 12, 2023
It is not a question of law; it is pure economics. The naira is being sold outside the banks; bank managers are busy selling the money, and people keep withdrawing without depositing. The issue of economics has been turned into politics.

These bastards don't have materials to print new notes and still refused to acknowledge the court ruling to ease the suffering of the masses.

Lol, even an Igbo professor of economics cannot be objective, blaming it on banks and politicians and even the supreme court, while absolving the CBN, SMH.
2mercy:

A professor of Economics, Cletus Agu, said the issue of naira scarcity was an artificial community-imposed problem fuelled by banks and the people, stating that the Supreme Court ruling was irrelevant.

Agu said, “It is not a central bank problem; rather, it’s a problem stemming from the commercial banks, imposed by the people and politicians. It is not a question of law; it is pure economics. The naira is being sold outside the banks; bank managers are busy selling the money, and people keep withdrawing without depositing. The issue of economics has been turned into politics.

“When there are incessant queues at Automated Teller Machine galleries every day, you know that something is wrong. The money is not circulating; if it did, then there will be ease. People are withdrawing and storing the cash; bank managers are giving it out to politicians and big businessmen. Why are the rich not complaining and it’s only the poor that are feeling the pain?”

According to him, one of the objectives of the CBN is to return money into the system to allow for cash flow, adding that the Supreme Court would not solve any problem by imposing sanctions.

“The Supreme Court shouldn’t have interfered in the issue. What are they trying to achieve? They can only get an extension of five days, after the five days, what next? Let’s wait for the subsequent judgment they will bring up,” he added.

the CBN governor no smart. If truly he was targeting a particular politician he should have done that since June last year immediately after all parties have all conducted their primary election and elected their candidate

Useless meeting......
We only wants Cbn Governor to talk only..
And bank officials are only listening to CBN Governor not applicants of cbn workers.

The fact that CBN didn't hold an emergency meeting on Friday but needed to wait till Monday speaks volume about their love for Nigerians.

The apex Court gave Buhari and the eme's CBN a soft landing judgement on Thursday, yet the two arrow heads bungle the opportunity rather they allow financial chaos, chasm and turmoil to grow and persist for 72 Hrs. The SMEs is in pains and the economy has re-t-a-r-d-ed; stuttered. Is this how to take responsibilities . We are waiting for your per seconds billing policy summersaults on Monday. Amukunmeko set of people.

It's unfortunate that the Public is arm against majority of Bankers and even the Public - that were never carried along in the Implementation of the Change in Policy to Cashless by Emefiele!
For example,so,I deposited my Old -Money and I couldn't get it back with New Notes till this hour!
Bricklayers, transporters, the Onion and Garri Sellers have no Cash to do business!
The CBN leaders went to USA and London and being brainwashed, you came to implement the most unsustainable policy- where there is :
No Light,
No Fuel for generators
No Cash- even the Old Ones are not available, not to talk of the New Notes.
You have restricted Nigerians Movement,
Now ,No Food on our table because our money are locked up in your Banks!
You CBN Officials ,are not feeling what the Masses are seriously feeling and you want to punish Politicians that are are just smiling with the New Notes! wherever they go!
This is not good enough and something Urgently should be done to save this terrible situations we found ourselves before Nigeria becomes a laughing stuff to the World,as everything is grounded now!
Most of our Small and Medium Scales Industry are seriously being threatened!
We hope the CBN would rise to the occasion now!

Starting a full fledge cashless policy when the IT to drive it it's still at low ebb is crazy. Most transfer carried out in the last few days have been hanging without success..

There are also saboteurs making money out of the whole process, Bank managers and politicians have been friends from time immemorial, the little cash supplied by CBN to DMB are already in the hands of the politicians.

May God help our nation.

The CBN should have conveyed a meeting highest 24 hours after the 10th February deadline elapsed, to brief Nigerians on the next path. Now the public have gathered boldness to continue using the old notes for transactions due to their (CBN) negligence.

If by Monday morning and unfortunately money deposit banks (MDBs) reject deposit of the old naira notes. It will be likened to declaration of war on well-meaning Nigerians.

This is the opportunity for CBN to print more of lower denomination 100, 50, 20 etc. Let this higher denomination be scare. If you want to do transaction above one thousand use pos or ussd. CBN print more of lower denominations. Simple.

Imagine being a good citizen that follows law like Mu-mu. CBN asked us to deposit our old notes, and we abide and follow it mumu-shly, to collect your money has now turned to war. Tomorrow is Monday, we are waiting how the man will save his face from this imbroglio that he stepped into. Have never seen the reason to fix a naira that has already fixed itself if not sheer unnecessary political interference.
