Esan West LGA Steps Up Campaign against Lassa Fever

In a bid to eradicate Lassa fever and other related diseases in our environment, the *Esan West council Boss Hon Friday Amiedamhen Idialu* lunched an awareness campaign to
Help community groups and individuals gain basic understanding of the environment and related issues. Public awareness of the environment is required.

Educators and environmentalists had gone round the LGAs including markets places, schools, streets, Motor Parks and places of worship, to repeatedly point out that the solution to the environmental and infectious disease crisis must be deeply rooted in the education system at all levels. This has helped us to promote environmental awareness and understanding within our communities and there by reducing drastically the cases of infectious agents and diseases in our society.

In the light of this great gesture, Awareness campaign equipment such as public address system, vest, first aid kits, safety boots and flyers were given to everyone in the team constituted by the council Boss.

Across the 10 wards making Esan West LGA, 20 persons each were allocated to man the wards including all SAs across the LGA.
