Old Notes Below ₦‎500,000 Should Deposit In Customers' Banks - CBN, Kogi by Melezenawii: 5:58pm On Feb 17, 2023
The Kogi State branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria has ordered individuals with less than N500,000 to visit their various banks to exchange them with new naira notes.

Checks at bank offices located at Hassan Katsina Road, Zone 8 in Lokoja revealed those with less than 500,000 were advised to visit their banks, Nigerian Tribune reports.

According to the Kogi Branch Controller of the CBN, Ahmed Sule, the apex bank is only giving attention to customers having above N500,000.
Sule said those with less amount are to visit their banks to swap their money.

As parts of efforts arising from the implementation of the policy on the deposit of the old naira notes, the apex bank launched a website for bank customers to register to deposit their old notes.

The website, referred to as ‘redemption of currency’ permits customers to “create a profile, generate a reference and print out a receipt to proceed to the nearest CBN branch to deposit the old N1000, N500, and N200 notes into their bank account

Did I hear "swap". This renders this news invalid. You can only deposit and be credited after four weeks. This is not a swap program.

CBN VERSUS POLITICIANS

If you think the politicians asking you to go on rampage over the scarcity of new notes care for you, then you are plain stupíd

For 9 months, students stayed at home last year, where were these politicians?

We have had intermittent fuel scarcity and petrol and diesel prices went very high since last year till date, where were these politicians?

We had floods that ravaged millions of homes and rendered many families without a means of livelihood last year in many states while the government watched, where were these politicians?

We had incessant security issues across Nigeria. Families were kidnapped and kept in criminal cells across Nigeria for months, where were these politicians?

Dollar rate to naira went up tremendously and almost every food items, electronics etc went double the prices in 2022, where were these politicians?

Cement, which is locally produced and even construction rods, with the raw materials in abundance in Nigeria, are now twice their rates as compared to early 2020, where were these politicians?

We matched to end police brutality in 2020 and many innocent protesters got shot, killed and their bodies taken and hidden by the military, where were these politicians?

Now, because CBN implemented a policy that will not allow them use the old piles of naira notes they stocked up in vaults in the houses to buy votes and bring in their inefficient candidates, they are suddenly patriots and champions of the People's rights. They are suddenly bothered by the sufferings of the ordinary people....?

The same politicians that hid paliatives during the 2020 lockdown cannot possibly care for you.

No let anybody deceive you. We know the situation is rough now with the paucity of cash flow but please understand that it is better to suffer for two weeks and enjoy for 8 years than to allow these greedy power drunk individuals deceive us into having their way in this election.

Your mumu supposed don do
